Mr. Young

Hello Parents and Families,

Welcome back to school! I will be your child's 2nd grade teacher for the up and coming 2021-22 school year. I am very excited to be teaching my seventh year at Peralta Trail and my thirteenth year teaching overall. My Wife, who teaches kindergarten at Peralta, and I have always said our house bleeds purple and teal like true Bobcats. We met teaching homeless children in down town Phoenix. We Ended up teaching in AJUSD becasue we built a house in Apache junction and wanted to teach in our own community. Although, now we live in Queen Creek and have a new addition to the Bobcat family, our one year old little girl Emerson, we love this district and couldn't imagine teaching any where else!

My life journey started in Okinawa, Japan where I was born. Both my mother and father were in the United States Air Force. I lived in Japan until I reached the age of two and moved to England. I lived in England up until, ironically, I was in second grade. I then moved with my family stateside and lived a year here and there in various states across the country before settling in Tucson, Arizona at the age of ten. I lived in Tucson until I graduated high school and moved to Mesa to play football at Mesa Community College, Go Thunderbirds! I started out as an accounting major because of my extreme love for math. I did an internship in my program and realized that I was not going to be able to sit in a cubicle for the rest of my life. I saw my counselor and she gave me an aptitude test. That test said that I was destined to be a teacher.  I took my first teaching class and fell in love with the art. I received an Associates in Education and transferred to Arizona State University. There I received my Bachelor's degree in education, and here I sit doing what I love; teaching kids!

Your teacher,
