• WELCOME TO ROOM 231!

Just a little bit about me!

Education:  I graduated with a B.A. in Elementary Education from ASU in 2005.  I then received my Master's Degree in Educational Technology in 2007 and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education in 2010.  I also received my certification in Special Education in 2012.

Teaching:  In the past, I taught in the general education setting in a computer class and for third grade in other school districts.  This is my 7th year in the AJUSD school district in Special Education.  For five years, I taught in a self-contained classroom setting.  During those years, I was taught and used the TEACCH system.  It is a structured program that teaches students independence.  This system was a great tool for a self-contained classroom.  For part of the 2020-21 school year, I transferred over to being the 5th and 6th grade Resource Teacher. at the elementary level  But now for the rest of the 2020-21 school year, I am glad to say I am at the Apache Junction High School in the Future Readiness Class -grades 9-12!

Family:  I am married and have a married daughter and a married son.  From them, I now have 6 grandchildren - four of which just graduated from high school.  One is which is going to be a teacher and teach in Europe teaching students English.

Pets:  I have two dogs - Molly and Teddy!

Hobbies:  I love camping and riding motorcycles. But alas, I sold my motorcycle and am sticking to just camping and keeping my feed firmly on the ground.
