Mr. McDavid

Hello everyone,

My name is Cary McDavid and I am really excited about joining the Apache Junction High School Faculty for the 2018-19 school year.  I am thrilled to be teaching Physical Science and introducing Physics to the school this year. It is my goal  to provide my students with a challenging, exciting and wonderful exploration into our physical world.

I was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio.  After gradution I enlisted into the United States Navy where I worked on the propulsion systems of nuclear power submarines as a nuclear mechanic.  I served on three different submarines, the USS Bremerton SSN 698, USS James Monroe SSBN 622 and I was on the commissioning crew of USS Rhode Island SSBN 740.  I retired from the Navy after 15 years of service.  I then worked for Intel Corporation for over 20 years as a process technician making microprossers for computers and cell phones.  While working for Intel I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Arlzona State University.  After Intel, I began my teaching career as a Chemistry Teacher at Poston Butte High School and then I taught Physics at Imhotep Charter High School in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.  I enjoy science and technology and I hope to introduce real life experiances and applications to the subject matter.

I am married to Wendy McDavid who teaches Biology here at Apache Junction and I have 3 children and 2 step children. My wife and I enjoy painting artwork and ceramics in our spare time as well as spending time with our 2 cats Dash and Dot.

"May the force be with you" on our journey of discovery.
